Regular Roofing Maintenance Essential For Northern NSW Coastal Homes

With the overwhelming and chronic rain events NSW is experiencing in the last 2 years it is no wonder our roofs are looking worse for wear with too few days of proper sunlight in many areas for surfaces to fully dry out

"It's during times like these that you need to make sure your roof is leak proof and secure." Says director Kieren.

Indeed if small broken tiles are left to the elements then they become bigger problems very quickly in a weather event or a deluge and high winds are also a risk of braking tiles and placing stress on weak points in your roof.

"I recommend getting your roof looked at once every 12-18 months in this kind of weather pattern" He goes on to say as the chances of roof leaks are far greater given the amount of rain that has been falling, the lingering moisture in the air also causes dangerous mould spores to form and spread throughout your ceilings and wall cavities.

It is also advised where possible to air your home out by opening as many doors and windows as you can to let the air circulate and dry out on the inside of the house and roof cavity soon those rare dry sunny days, open the blinds and let the air in while you can!

Kieren also says that the clients who get regular maintenance done are having their roofs last longer and look better with a regular clean over 12-18 months and so when it comes sale time the roof - which will be the last thing on your mind, will actually be the biggest thing you spend money fixing if you leave it go.

It costs a few hundred to a few thousand dollars to have your roof maintained depending on size and other variables, but it saves you potentially tens of thousands in the long run.
